Working from home and loving it!

Pin It Now!

My home office (a work in progress)

Happy Monday! Surprise! I didn't wait three years to update my blog again!

I've been working from home since the pandemic hit and luckily I will be working from home even after everything opens up. My company gave me the option to relocate to Houston and keep my same salary but I'm not ready to leave California yet. I don't do well in hot and humid weather! Luckily I can stay here and just work from home with the option to go into the San Jose office when needed. Most of my team is located in other states though so I don't think I will have the need to go to the officer very often!

My housemate that moved out had his own business and always worked from home so he used the 4th bedroom for his office.  After he moved out I decided to move my desk out of the living room and into my own office! Of course I had to pay more rent for that extra space but it's so worth it! I'm still in the process of decorating it and plan to buy a small loveseat or a set of comfy chairs to replace that bench under the window. I also want to add some drapery panels. For now I just put things in there that I already had with the exception of the rug, that is new.

My bedroom

I thought I would also share a pic of my bedroom.  That window faces east which brings in the glorious morning sun! I've been growing orchids and African violets and they just keep blooming continuously. I've never been able to get orchids to rebloom for me in the past! This location is perfect growing things!

I mentioned in my last post that we had to find a new roommate and I'm happy to say we did! I'm so happy we get to stay here. I'm loving it! For those of you local, I'm in the Willow Glen part of San Jose which is my favorite!

I'm not sure when my next update will be but I'll try to be better about posting every few months at least! I wonder how I did it back in the days when I would post 5 days a week for years!

I'm still alive and doing well!

Pin It Now!

Hi all! Wow, I can't believe it's been 3 years since I posted anything here! I'm still living in California and still working for the same company. My daughter flew the nest a couple years ago so I decided to move and rather than be in a small one bedroom apartment I rented a house with a friend and his friend. Yes, we are sort of like Three's Company! haha! We found a beautiful 4 bedroom home and have been here almost 2 years already!  I have the master bedroom, living room and dining room for my furniture! Luckily we have a family room which is their "man cave".

I thought I would share pictures of my dining room since it's my favorite part of the house. It's been awhile since I've had a big dining room so I'm really enjoying it!

I just recently found the wine bar on the left at a shop here called "Not too Shabby". It was originally black and I painted it.  That little table on the right I found at the Goodwill about a month ago for only $13. I also painted that.

These cabbage dishes were my moms that she gave me before she passed.  They are perfect Spring/Easter tablesettings.

A few weeks ago when I set the table with the cabbage dishes I got inspired and made some carrot cake cupcakes.

I hope all my friends have been safe and healthy through this crazy year! I just received the J&J vaccine last week so I'm feeling really hopeful about getting out and doing more fun things in the near future!

I'll try to check in more often that every 3 years!  One of my housemates just bought a home in the Nashville area so I'm hoping we can find a new roommate soon or I will be looking for a new place to live. A 4 bedroom home in Silicon Valley is rather pricey so it wouldn't make sense for just two of us to live here. Fingers crossed that we find a person soon! I love this home. It's a beautiful neighborhood and I've been so happy here!

Since I haven't been updating my blog for years I know there will be glitches with broken links, etc. so I apologize! I just don't have the time to spend on it like I used to.

Until next time, take care!

I know I will be looking forward to seeing this every month on her blog now!

Our home at Christmas

Pin It Now!

Hi! It's been awhile since I've updated my blog! I thought I would check in and let everyone know I'm okay and also share some of my Christmas decor.

Not much has changed in my world. I'm still living in my same apartment and still working at my same job!  I'm now supporting two VPs at work rather than just one and I got to go to Houston on a business trip last month with my new VP. That was my big excitement for the year!  I may be going back in March too!

Above is my yearly Christmas tree in the mirror photo!  My dad made this mirror for me in the early 90s and then years ago I added the shutters to the sides. Some of you may remember I found those shutters on the curb with a "free" sign on them!  Just a little paint is all they needed!

And this is the mirror in the mirror photo! haha! I'm still obsessed with mirrors! They bring so much more light into a space and make it feel so much bigger!

I put up my artificial tree again this year but I think next year I'll use a real one. This is just a little too slim and I miss having a big full Christmas tree!  I might put this one up in my bedroom next year!

I hope to be back with some more Christmas decor photos soon!

Happy Spring!

Pin It Now!

Hi friends!  Since my last post was during the Christmas holiday season I thought I would check back in with you all!  I didn't intend to stay away so long.

I just decorated for Easter/Spring about a week ago and I still haven't taken any photos so I thought I would share some from archives!   These were taken many years ago in my old apartment.

Not much is new in my life. Just busy working full time and driving for Uber part time and trying to fit some fun in there too!

I'm still living in the apartment that I'm not too fond of and still missing this old place I rented.

I hope for those that celebrate Easter that you have a wonderful one!
